Finance for a transportable home
Do we do “Finance to Own”? YES Do we do “Rent to Own”? NO
Does Unit2go do Rent to Own (Buy)? It is a question that we are asked on a daily basis. The answer is a simple "No", it is important to understand that Rent to Own has a few drawbacks and that alternatives, like traditional Finance, may suit people that previously thought Rent to Own was their only option. Well, it is not…
Finance for a transportable home
Finance is where the customer secures a loan from a third-party lender (UFinance Ltd) to acquire the unit from Unit2go. UFinance will pay Unit2go directly. The customer will immediately take possession and ownership of the unit and make regular repayments to UFinance that provided the funds. The result is that you have paid a slightly higher amount than the cost of the item, but in the end, you own it outright 100%. The finance is secured against the Transportable Unit (Home) you have taken possession of.
The finance future
In order to finance a unit, you simply need a good credit history and be able to afford the repayments. If you meet all the criteria and are approved, you could be moving into a unit that you own and, instead of rent, each week you are paying off the loan which gets you closer to owning the unit outright.
Can anyone Finance a Unit2go Transportable Unit?
Most people can but, there are criteria that must be met before lending is approved. UFinance Ltd believe in responsible finance and are guided by the Responsible Lending Act and AML, and are governed by the regulatory bodies, therefore will only lend to people who can afford it. With finance to own, the title still sits with Ufinance, until the unit is paid in full.
Below we have highlighted some of the finance requirements, however, please note that there are more that need to be considered.
- Depending on the size of the transportable unit a deposit may be required.
- You need an income and good credit.
- You need to be able to afford the unit, meaning, meet the repayments AND comfortably survive.
- You must have the landowner's permission to site the unit (if you do not own the land).
- You must be living in New Zealand.
- No equity or property ownership is required.
